Akhar Working and proffesional Education

Gagandeep Kaurs Sugestion:-

Hello Ravinder

Myself being a member and little contributor of Akhar believe that i hold some rights to highlight something, it is great that Akhar is flourishing and expanding its area of services but one thing we have to keep in mind, the limit and capacity up to which Akhar can conribute towards the society. As per your mail you included the new area of services i just want to know what about the new contributors and cashflow is that also increasing ,why i am raising this point is because Akhar is keep on expanding and we don't have enough of resources to fullfill the demand. My simple point is, it will be great if Akhar concentrate on not more than two areas
initially and see the outcome.........it will be brilliant if Akhar's focus is more on children education not just to motivate them to clear their 10th or 12th std but extend its help till their professional courses........lets create professional like teachers, doctors, engg and IAS officers out of them and set an history , i know this is bit difficult but not impossible, if all of us can become good professionals why not those sikh kids.we should encourage and give awareness to students about these professions and helpthem to fullfill their dreams and then let those professional to help other students this way we can create a help chain for other sit is a lengthy process but believe me its outcome will be superb. And this will be only possible by targetting few areas not the whole of India which will achieve nothing.what i believe is that one of the purpose of Akhar is to bring those neglected Sikhs back to the main stream of the society and make them responsible and respectfull citizen. At the last i beg my humble pardon if i said something beyond my limits.

Thanks
Gagandeep Kaur

Avtar Singh jees Mail:-

Sat shari akal to all Akhar friends,

I would like to thank all of you to working for humanity here.

I am too very little and irregular contributor of Akhar and most important I don't know how Akhar operate at ground floor. But I feel If my idea can contribute to some decision it might be a great help. So I am writing this mail because I feel we should grow in order to sever humanity.

I do agree with Gagandeep kaur here as she mentioned that we should focus on our initial goal. However my point again asking our community to focus on new area.

we should provide some guide/support to those children also who passed 12th and now they are doing some odd job. What I am trying to say here that Akar will help those children(already 12th pass without Akhar help) to complete some professional education by correspondence(they can continue what they are doing) and while doing it we all can organize online classes for them since we all are working MNC and can teach them what we studied in our graduation.

In this way, Once these guys will get any good salary Job, we can expect those guys to help back their brother and sister.
The important point here is that we need to find out guys who are seriously interested in study and don't have financial support to do it and if possible we can open this facility to non sikh people also.

Basically Idea says we should help those guys too which can make their future and help back.

I believe in this way we can grow our community and can cover more area. However this idea is not mature but we can think about something like that.

There are three points raised By Gagandeep Kaur In her mail.
1) Professional Education.
2) New areas.
3) Fund generation.

1) Professional Education: - I agree with you that our focus shall not be only clearing 10th or 12th Standard exams. We must understand the socio economic background of the community in which Akhar and other organizations are working. The problem of target community is not only lack of funds for education but also awareness about education. These kids are first generation students and we must understand that it will take some time for them and may even take one generation to reach the highest echelons of society.
Having said I would like to inform our members that for talented people there is no limit. Last year we had introduced Akhar scholars scheme in which five students those who have been doing good in their studies have been taken and supported by Akhar.
One of them is an IAS aspirant, he is currently studying in B.A second year and preparing for MPSC (Maharashtra Public service Exam).
Four students appeared in Eleventh standard depending on the 12th standard results (2011) we will decide what they should do afterwards.
Besides these five students, recently one of the girl students has been enrolled in Primary teaching course, one boy who is in B.A part 1 is being motivated to take teaching or any other suitable profession of his choice.
We can’t jump into professional education without proper foundation, we did it and we failed also. Before Akhar started Amandeep Singh jee with his efforts enrolled three students in Engineering Diploma and Degree courses. They were not able to cope up with studies and right now only one student is continuing studies and might complete his degree. We have to take one step at a time.
I would like to assure all our members that for talented students there is no limit if we can’t arrange resources from Akhar we will approach other organizations and get them what ever required.

2) New Areas and funds are two inter related topics so would answer both of them together.
Dear Members we are addressing an issue which needs immediate attention. If we stick to what we are doing right now then we will not be having any thing to do after 10-15 years. My friends from Pune will tell you that in Sikhligar deras were we are not working people from other communities have already started motivating them to other religions. We have to fight the time as well.
There are two reasons why we should not get into new areas
1) Human resources
2) Financial resources.

My friends who know economics will understand that needs are always endless and means are limited. Same is the case here. I agree we have limited resources but we have to generate resources. It is the duty of all of us to generate resources if we really want to bring a change. We should not stop growth due to our deficiencies. If every one of you starts spending half an hour daily for the cause I am sure we can turn the tide in our favour. First we have to motivate ourselves and contribute whatever we can and then motivate others to do so.
“ Sar phereen Hawaey paharoo ka rukh badal diya Karti hain”
Another apprehension of our members is regarding Quantity and Quality. We have a predefined notion that quantity and quality are reciprocals. If quantity is more quality is less. Let us change this notion and balance quantity and quality that will happen only if we have strong processes. “Elephants can also dance”. We have to follow process of continuous improvement.

At the End I would like to assure all our members that new areas will not be taken up on the cost of already existing projects.
Equal Impetus will be given to professional and technical education, there will not be shortage of funds for talented Kids, We will arrange it for them.
There were strong reasons why we have taken up few areas in last one year. If any one of you want to know , please write on the blog. I will respond to any queries.
